Hi I am not sure if this is the correct board to post this question on, if not I'm sorry! So I'm 10 days into my "On Season Diet" and I've been having major stomach aches, mostly feeling gassy and bloated. Sometimes it hurts so much the pain is unbearable. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the high protein in my diet. Right now I'm also sick with the flu, so maybe its a combination of both the protein and the flu but I'm not sure. I'm a sheer beginner at this so can anyone let me know if this is something I'm just going to have to deal with for now on?

Hi , First you may want to go to the doctor if your having severe stomach pain just to be on the safe side to make sure it isn't something more serious. Sometimes I find you have to experiment with protein and find what works for your system because if you are lactose intolerant or have an allergy to whey it can cause you to be gassy. Also maybe take one scoop of protein at a time instead of two. If your taking more then your system is used to maybe your body just isn't digesting it very well. I hope that helps. Also make sure you are eating enough fibrous carbohydrates. Flax, Flaxseed oil or psyillium are also helpful for daily elimination I usually put 1 of the above items in my protein shakes daily, just make sure to follow the instructions on the bottle. Last but not least make sure to drink plenty of water.
