Hello everyone! I am excited to have found this site, I've been online searching for fitness help and motivation, etc. ;D I'm 28 years old, 5'0, (shorty!) and weigh 131lbs (to be exact). I have lost about 10lbs in the last 4 months and although it's great that I've progressed, I feel likes it slow progress, and not enough. I am a bit disappointed that I haven't lost more. For the first time in my life I've been working with a personal trainter so I think that's why I lost the 10lbs so far. I just want to keep going and get there - to my ultimate goal!! I am learning to set goals and really love reading blogs, and articles in magazines that talk about before and afters. These people set their goals and want to reach greatness. I am intending the same! I know I need to stick to a super strict diet, which is tough because I love food. I wonder how strict should it really be? I want to look like a Ms. Fitness model, but I'm not overly concerned with getting larger muscles, just getting lean and toned. I think I've hit a plateau or something, because I'm not losing now. I've even gone up 1 or 2 lbs. It's frustrating cuz it's the only thing on my mind! Any advice from the pros here? How long should it take me to look almost like a fitness model, if I really did everything right? How much do I need to exercise and how do I know if I"m not over consuming calories for my size? Please advise.

What does your diet consist of? What is a your weekly exercise plan? Everyone goes through plateaus so don't be discouraged. I usually change my Personal Training Clients exercise routines up quite frequently to keep them from getting stagnant.

My diet is mixed up, because I like a variety of food. I normally eat oatmeal (not quick type) with egg whites and some cocoa powder to taste. I top it with fruit or yogourt. Lunches tends to be a whole wheat wrap with chicken or tuna grilled on the stove. I add tazikki or humus to taste. Dinners normally are salads with chicken, fish, or pork, or tofu chili, etc. For snacks I eat various things like low cal rice cakes, apple with penut butter(all natural), chocolate protein shakes, or protein bars, nuts, seeds, fruit. I do love chocolate so I sometimes cheat and eat a couple of dark chocolate pieces. I also don't know when I should eat last in the day. If my last meal is at 6pm and I go to bed at 10 or 11pm, I am starved! Am I supposed to be starved going to bed? I've heard going to bed hungry makes you lose more wieight, but is it good weight? Is is fat or muscle or what being lost if anything?
Oh my exercise has been weight training 2x/week (my trainer makes me mostly do high reps, and active rest in between sets). I am supossed to do cardio for about 1 hour 5x a week min. I have upped my cardio to about 45min on the treadmill with interval-training jogging/walking about 4-5x a week. Am I not working hard enough? Should I be doing something more?

You don't seem to be eating enough meals to boost your metabolisim. 6 small meals daily (eating every 2-3 hrs) really revs up the metabolisim. It isn't that your eating is wrong you just need a little more direction, that a nutrtionist can give. Knowing what ratio you are eating of carbs, fats, and proteins is crucial to fine tuning your diet so you can achieve maximum results. Also it is important to calculate how many calories you should be eating per day to achieve your goals. Diet is 80% of your results. Your exercise routine doesn't sound bad, it is right in line with being a fitness model. A great person to Contact about nutrition is Lorenzo Gasper at abacoach@aol.com you can also check out his website at www.LorenzoGasper.com

Thank you so much LindaLu! I thought I was eating alot, because I'm always full after eating, but I will educate myself further in nutrition, to discover what else I need to be doing. I'm glad to hear that my training routine is in line with being a fitness model. It's always been in the back of my mind to perhaps pursue that kind of work one day - if I meet the requirements! If you have any direction on being a fitness model as well, please let me know. Once I reach my fitness goal and hopefully look my best, I would love to reach for that goal as well. Thank you again - you're really helpful on here : )
