Hey everyone, I am training hard for the Sept 25th, 2010 qualifiers in Vegas? I am resident of the US, but right now in Malaysia for 3 months. Basically, I would like to know more about sponsorship? I read in this forum that we should prepare a portfolio etc... I know nothing about this. If anyone can help me at all... It would be amazing if I can cover some of my cost for this competition. I was thinking of approaching my gym here which is quite popular in Malaysia (open by an American guy).... does sponsorship mean, their gym name "Celebrity Fitness" will appear at the competition ?? Please please if anyone knows anything, greatly appreciated
Hi there, I would prepare a sponsorship letter along with photos. When writing the letter speak of your present accomplishments, what you hope to gain by competing, what you need from your sponsor and what you can do for in return for sponsorship, but as always the most important thing to do sincerely is just ask.
Fitness is not only a lifestyle; it is also a career, a way of life, and very much my passion.
As a mother of three children ages 27, 25, and 12, I began competing at the age of 38 and achieved the crowns of Ms Fitness Indiana 2010, 2009 and 2008, Ms Fitness Kentucky 2008, Ms Fitness Great Lakes 2002 & 2004, and Ms Fitness Legacy Masters Champion. I am a “Fit Mom Who Loves Fitness.”
My career credentials also include writing for and being featured in several national magazines, a regular column called “Fit Over Forty” for Ms Fitness Magazine® and acting as the Fitness Moderator for Ms Fitness chat line at www.msfitness.com.
With over 25 years in the fitness industry my experience includes competing in Ms Fitness USA, teaching a wide variety of classes as well as personal training (both men and women). I am the founder of "Girlfriends Bikini Boot Camp" and teach Cruise Line Fitness to people of all ages as well. At 47 years young, being “Fit at Forty” gives a richness and fullness to my life -- summing it up best by saying “My Enthusiasm For Fitness Is Contagious! Catch It!!!”
It is my mission to bring inspiration to those who may feel all washed up just because of a number called age! I believe we can be in the prime of our lives when we grow older instead of feeling the decline that many people experience. Going after one’s dreams gives passion and purpose that transcends age, whether it is to run a marathon, climb Mt Everest, or lose that last 10 pounds. There are no boundaries to what can be accomplished, when we put our heart, mind and soul into whatever we are trying to achieve.
When we are young we can't wait to get older so people take us more seriously; when we are a little older we wish we were young again because we wouldn't waste our youth. My solution to this problem is to embrace your age whatever it is, by choosing to take better care of yourself."
I wish to inspire women not to settle for status quo. Age is just a number. Life is about reaching, breathing, and living to your fullest potential. I want to help women learn to define themselves, and not be defined by society's norms. Let's put a new face on forty!
More recently, I served as a contributing writer for the fitness portion of “Fat Flush for Life,” a new book written by best-selling author Ann Louise Gittleman (scheduled for December 2009 release), appearing with Ann Louise on The Fox Morning Show with Mike and Juliet to discuss her upcoming book. I also appeared as a cast member for a new fitness video entitled The Deceptive Diet Plan.
I lead Girlfriends Bikini Book Camp for fitness on a weekly basis, and recommend supplements and beauty products to women of all ages regularly. Several "Girlfriends Bikini Boot camp" Weekend Getaways for 2010 are also in the planning stages. I would love to come on your show and talk about Fitness for the over Forty. As a spokesperson for ---------------I would be glad to incorporate your product into my line to benefit my followers. I would be happy to make mention of your products in articles where it would be applicable as well.
As a spokesperson for ---------------- I would be happy to help promote your product- in a way that we can agree upon together for your company... If you would be interested in a future relationship, please contact me LINDALU@LINDALUFITNESS.COM
