What is your take on vegetarianism as far as getting ready for a competition? I just don't know if you can get all of the protein you'd need.

There are plenty of ways to get protein as a vegetarian. I would suggest checking out veganbodybuilding.com. It is a site for vegan competitors/bodybuilders and sport enthusiasts. You will find alot of information on protein sources there. Also for veg protein shakes check out trueprotein.com.

Vegetarianism encompasses the practice of following plant-based diets (fruits, vegetables, etc.), with or without the inclusion of dairy products or eggs, and with the exclusion of meat (red meat, poultry, and seafood). Abstention from by-products of animal slaughter, such as animal-derived rennet and gelatin, may also be practiced.

A vegetarian diet focuses on plants for food. These include fruits, vegetables, dried beans and peas, grains, seeds and nuts. There is no single type of vegetarian diet. Instead, vegetarian eating patterns usually fall into the following groups:
The vegan diet, which excludes all meat and animal products The lacto vegetarian diet, which includes plant foods plus dairy products The lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, which includes both dairy products and eggs People who follow vegetarian diets can get all the nutrients they need.

As far as vegetarians are concerned, i recommend that you get proteins from quinoa. it is a whole grain and a great source of protein and known as queen of grains.
