Hi everyone. One quick question. How do you keep your mentrual cycle w/ low body fat? Right now I am 5'1" and 90 lbs. My doc is concerned about my losing any more weight b/c I will lose my menstruation again. It seems to happen when I get below 16% body fat. How do you keep it?

Maybe your bodyfat is lower than 16% I would have it checked by a professional. Generally speaking amnorhea begins at a bodyfat of 10% or lower and or because of to much exercise and sometimes stress. Having a bodyfat that is to low can take away from your overall health and cause long term problems. Perhaps you aren't getting essential nutrients in your diet as well. A lot of the time when people go on a High Protein low carb diet they cut out all fat completely. Having the right kind of Fat in your daily diet is essential for optimal health: Unprocessed quality fats such as Nuts, flaxseed oil, Olive oil, canola oil, nuts seeds and avacado.

Thank you for the response. I had it checked by an expert exercise/physiologist. I wonder if I need more beef....I eat mostly carbs and fruit. I don't exercise too much (around 20 min. a day and sometimes only 3 days/week) right now...as I am building up for more. Can anyone think of something else???
