Autumn Ray was 5"9". Autumn was 1st in the physique round in 2002 and placed in the top 5. I'm sure there are others, because of her height ,I thought Autumn Ray just looked so elegant and graceful on stage. I loved your quote I saw this one the other day it echoes the same sentiment "Don't just dance If your going to dance! Dance with heart!"

Hi!! My name is Alicia, I am NEW to Ms. Fitness - but I have competed in Fitness America and NPC. I am 5'91/2! and my good buddy and former Ms. Fitness national champion, Nancy Georges is 5'91/2 From my experience, I think that there are some fitness moves that do look "slower" when we do them as compared to when our petite counterparts do the very same move(s)<laugh>! What I did with my choreographers (one of them is 4'10 - the other is Cathy Savage!) was to incorporate only the things that my body looked good doing...and could be gotten into and out of fluidly and cleanly. Some of the original things had me tangled up in my own legs <laugh!> - There are plusses and minuses to each and everything - I say, just bring what you know and do well and you will ROCK . Alicia PS Good luck to all those that are competing in the Ms Fitness USAs in September!!!! ___________________________________________ www.aliciadenson.com"Those who hear not the music, think the dancers mad."

Hey KK, It' Nadine. Nice to see another familiar face on the board. I am competing in Las Vegas in September along with Linda Rose..... The two petite savage girls will be representing!!!!!!!!!! Being shorter may make the moves easier, but you girls with the long legs and tall lean bodies are pretty amazing to see in those heels...... Pros and Cons to us all I guess...... Good luck to everyone in Vegas. I can't wait!!!! Nadine

Hi Everyone! Hey Krispy and Nadine! XOXOXO!!! Think of your height as an advantage. You have something that a lot of others don't. We are all different, and that what sets us apart and makes us all special! Me, I'm 4'10" and I used to think I was too little to compete and I almost didn't!! But I got over it, learned to embrace my petitie stature and now I've competed a total of 7 times since April of this year and I've done very well. I even won the MS. Fitness Cape Cod show. That's how much my height hurt me! Personally, I love watching the taller girls perform. I agree with LindaLu in that it makes them look so graceful! Nadine is right too, you will look amazing in those heels and swimsuit! Height really isn't important. It's all about making the most of what you have. A good example was FAME Pittsburgh. In Bikini, both Alicia (who is almost a foot taller than me) and myself placed in the top 5. Alicia won and I came in third. Talk about complete opposites! the funniest part was when we all held hands and raised them up for the photos. I was on my tippy toes and Alicia's arm was bent to reach mine. Hee-hee! I wish we could post pictures on here so I could show you! too funny! GOOD LUCK! Linda Rose www.lindasite.com

I wish we could post pictures on here so I could show you! too funny! If you have an image on your website, you can post it here. Look at the two lines of "Add tags," in the second line, fourth icon from the left is the "image" button. Just insert the address to the image between the sets of brackets. But, back to the main topic, it brought a big smile to my face to see the concern about being too tall. There are numerous, great tall competitors. It's usually the shorter women who are concerned with their height and getting lost in the crowd. Those taller women are just so visible. But rest assured, short or tall, in the line up at finals you will be next to a competitor of similar height.

Thank you to all those that responded to my question. I'm 5'10 1/2 and I'd been searching for a while. I've just started an explosive training phase and you are all such great resources and I appreciate the words of wisdom and support from you. Thank you and I admire you all! :-)
