AT FINALS: The built-in stage at the Grand Sierra Resort has the typical auditorium hardwood floor. For Ms. Fitness USA and Ms. Fitness World, Centaur Floor Systems lays down their 3/8" Rubberflex "S" flooring to give it more cushion. Rubberflex “S” is specially engineered to provide cushioned resilience. It's shock absorbing to help prevent injuries, but it's still killer on the wrists. Since it is a rubber product, it is slip-resistant. However, John at Centaur puts a coating on it to give it more slip. If you need a lot of slip, you may want to take a look at your footwear, leggings, etc. - maybe choose a more slippery-soled shoe or put a sheer stocking over them? You may also use the powder (chalk?) found in dance stores. This is a popular floor product in health clubs. Check in your area to see if any clubs near you have it and go try it out. Also, the ROUGH dimensions of the finals stage are 55 feet wide by 20 feet deep. There is some clearance in the wings but not a great deal. The exact dimensions may vary slightly after the set is built. Be prepared to adjust your routine to the TRUE stage dimensions during prejudging. AT QUALIFIERS: The most common flooring is the standard hardwood floor built into the auditorium. Occasionally you may run into carpet. Your best source for the exact flooring at each individual qualifier is the event promoter. Promoter's e-mail address can be found at: msfitness.com/dates.htmlThe size of the stage at the qualifiers can also vary considerably.
