Hi everybody! I am new to this forum but I thought this would be a good place to have my question answered. I am working on definition and density, need to loose a bit of fat and to get stronger. I love moving around, kettle bells, Pilates, Boot Camp, and things like that. I do not like the weight equipment. I have been training old school, with the equipment, and I think the shape is getting better and I am progressing to heavier weights (on the equipment) but I am not getting stronger functionally. Is there any other way to improve the shape of the muscles and to actually get better at using them when the weigh lifting equipment is not around?

In my opinion, you should practise yoga if you are not much reluctant to the weight machines, as yoga refreshes mind in general and is a good exercise to keep muscles on going and in shape.

I'm sure many people are still interested in this question. To gain muscle, you have to train with weights. You also have to do away with cardio workouts, because they are aimed at weight loss.
