Hi again everyone, I am so excited as this will be my first trip to the Ms. Fitness USA Nationals! I have a question about keeping my tan. I dont like using tanning beds and in the past have just applied very dark layers of self-tanner. This is great for 1 day shows, but it starts to flake off very quickly. Any ideas? Also, I understand the spa at the Rio has a fitness facility but it costs 20.00 per day. What do competitors do to keep their great shape? Thanks for any help.

I really like Jan Tana Competition Tan. You can put on one coat the morning of your show and probably be dark enough for Ms. Fitness. Also, you can keep applying as many coats as you need until you get to your desired color, if you like a darker look. It washes off at night just like your makeup and dries very quickly. I would experiment with it this week or next week to see if you like it before just applying it the day of the show. Hope that helps. Nancy

Beginning Thursday there is the best gym in the country at the Rio for 3 days - the National Fitness Trade Show. Don't worry about the official "exhibits open" hours, we'll let competitors in to workout.

I have always used Pro Tan but the last competition I went to Mystic tan only twice and it was quick, easy inexpensive and evenly dispersed. What I liked the best, besides the fact it was a time saver, was it lasted a week and didn't flake off. I think you would probably want to go more than twice for a deep enough tan. Also make sure to exfoliate well with some salt scrub for a few days before you begin tanning as well as apply lotion daily (Of course make sure its dry first). First choice would be to workout at the Expo on all of their fabulous state of the art equipment. You can always take a Power Walk, Run the stairs,Do Pushups, Triceps Dips on a chair, walking Lunges, High rep Squats with your own bodyweight , Crunches, Pilates exercises or just find a spot in the hotel and just practice your routine. Believe with all you will be doing and a good diet you won't get out of shape
