I am 36 yrs old, 5'7"and 155 lbs living in Western New York and have been told not even think about it because I am too old. My workout regimen is about 4-5days a week mostly cardio. Should I be discouraged and if not I wouldnt even know where to start locally.

Our reigning Ms. Fitness World is 37 years old. Last year's Ms. Fitness USA was 38. So you are not too old. If you don't know where to start, enlist the services of a personal trainer to get you going in the right direction with a solid eating plan and a well balanced (weights/cardio) exercise routine. Interview several until you find one you are comfortable with, but one who will push you to excel. You might want to check out Tina Thompson Pope's fitness camp coming up in May. For more info check out tiptopwebsite.com/websites/index2.php?username=tinashealthlift&page=3. You might also want to purchase one of the Ms. Fitness USA DVDs (prejudging version) to use as a training tool and to show to the personal trainer you choose so they understand what you want to accomplish with your body. Stay away from the naysayers and surround yourself with people who support and encourage you as you embark on this exciting endeavor.

A person is never too old to start in my opinion. what really count is your motivation and your "I CAN DO IT" spirit. furthermore, ms fitness competition is for everyone. we have no age limit and as you can see the analysis of the person above you are never to late. You will not be at any cost be discouraged.
